Stephen Riome

Director of Acquisition and SVOD services

With over 20 years of international Pay TV experience, Stephen is responsible for all content acquisitions across the On Demand Group's transactional services. He also leads development and commercial deployment of the Group's branded SVOD programming services.
Prior to joining the On Demand Group Stephen was Vice President of Programming and Content Acquisitions for Orbit Communications, the world’s first fully digital, multi-channel, multi-lingual, Pay TV service, broadcasting to 23 countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa. He was responsible for negotiating and securing a wide range of linear, Pay Per View and Pay TV output agreements with Hollywood Studios, international broadcasters as well as independent distributors.

He also served as project manager for Orbit’s Pay Per View service implementation in 1998, the first of its kind in the region. During this period he developed and refined the company's international and domestic content and promotional strategy, along with implementation of the on-screen user interface and automated content ordering systems. Subsequently, Stephen managed all commercial and operational aspects of the Pay Per View service for a further 7 years.

Stephen brings to the On Demand Group a unique experience related to implementation and commercial operation of Pay-TV and Pay Per View services having worked for a variety of international broadcasters in the UK, Europe and Asia. He has held senior positions with the likes of BSkyB, STAR TV and Scan-Sat. He is a qualified electro-mechanical Engineer and holds a Masters Degree in Business.
