Web Service Provides On Demand Access to Range of Blockbuster Movies
EWE TEL and On Demand Deutschland (ODD) today announced the launch of the "Online-Videothek" service - which will be live and exclusive for EWE customers from 1st March. The "Online-Videothek" service will provide on demand access to current and library blockbuster movies. EWE consumers will be able to select the movie of their choice with complete pause, rewind and fast forward control; and watch movies again and again.
ODD is the exclusive content service provider for the "Online-Videothek" service and is supplying a wide range of popular movies from major Hollywood studios as well as from big independent German film studios. ODD, the joint venture between Tele München Group (TMG) and On Demand Group delivers premium content, service management and asset processing services to a host of German video-on-demand (VOD) and pay per view (PPV) operators.
The EWE "Online-Videothek" service will offer movies from Sony, Fox, MGM, TMG and Constantin; and other major studios are expected to be announced shortly. At launch, consumers will be able to view recent blockbusters such as Iron Man 2, Eat Pray Love, Salt, Karate Kid, The A-Team and library blockbusters such as Spider Man, Iron Man, XXX, Werner and many more as the service grows. Movies are priced from 1.99€ for a 48 hour rental period.
