Sep '08 - ODG launch major VOD branded service line-up and content preparation system at MIPCOM

ODG launch major VOD branded service line-up and content preparation system at MIPCOM.

On Demand Group (ODG), the leading video on demand (VOD) and pay per view (PPV) TV operator is launching a range of VOD branded services and also a major initiative in licensing its VOD content management system – VoDzilla.

The combined announcement, timed for the start of MIPCOM, the global entertainment showcase event starting in Cannes on October 8th, offers a speed to market solution to existing cable and potential IPTV operators.

The new content brands cover key service genres including movies, mainstream TV, kids, music videos, leisure and the performing arts and will provide operators with a compelling core bundle of VOD services, including both pay per view and subscription VOD pricing models.

ODG can deliver all content in the required format, targeted to individual markets and consumer profiles, to respective operators with associated meta data and provide a full scheduling, refresh and onscreen promo production service as required.

The VoDzilla content management system handles all content details including meta data, product creation, and folder management as well as digital rights management and reporting, and is an essential tool in the management of a VOD service. An additional component includes a full MIS reporting solution offering daily, weekly, monthly and cumulative viewing and buy data by content item, genre, region and customer profile.

Tony Kelly, ODG CEO commented; “We are very excited with the launch of our new service brands which are designed for pan-European distribution and aimed at kick starting the expansion of VOD across Europe. The licensing of our VoDzilla content management system will also make it a lot easier for operators to set-up, manage and report on their service performance and provide the necessary content information to suppliers.”
